Everyone knows AI is great for job searching, right?
WRONG. ⚡️
While AI is crazy powerful for career exploration, resume optimization, and even interview prep, let's be brutally honest:
It *SUCKS* at actually searching for jobs.
Why? 🤔
Because AI's superpower is CURATION - not BREADTH.
In other words, it's world-class at boiling down 1,000 data points to 10 key insights. But it's worse than 20-year old technology (LinkedIn, Indeed, even Monster.com) at scraping the web and getting you access to all 1,000 jobs that need your talents.
And since labor truly is a marketplace, you want as many suitors competing for your talents - that's what gives you leverage, gets you hired faster, and helps you land a higher salary! 🤑
So BOTTOM LINE: By all means, use AI to help you think through your next job search. But leave the actual searching to the old-school bots that do it best... ;)
And please do me a HUGE FAVOR - share this with your friends and students to save them from making this same mistake! 🙏
