🙄 MISTAKE 1: Focusing your Headline on what you *used* to do - not what you want to do next.
The Headline is critical to LinkedIn's search algorithm (just try searching for anything and you'll see your keyword appear in the Headlines of the top results). So make sure it's focused on what you want to be found for today (even if it's just "Exploring X Roles") - not yesterday.
😣 MISTAKE 2: Having a great resume - but an *empty* profile.
Recruiters can't see the resume sitting on your hard drive, no matter how amazing it is. So take all those same amazing bullet points and keywords and get them onto your profile, pronto!
😫 MISTAKE 3: Not turning on Open to Work - because you're *freaked out* about that green badge.
Ignore the debate about the badge - most recruiters don't care. But they absolutely do care about whether you're open to new opportunities - so be sure to turn on the "Recruiters Only" mode regardless (especially since the recruiters at your current company can't see it!).
