You know I like to stir things up - but this is straight 🔥: Is Hiring BROKEN???
I just hired the best person I've ever worked with - and you know what I never looked at...
❌ Resumes
❌ Cover Letters
❌ LinkedIn Profiles
Because here's the deal: If you're the hiring manager and know *exactly* what you need done, why would you settle for a *PROXY*???
Resumes, cover letters, and profiles give you a taste of someone's potential...
...But why settle for an appetizer when you could flat-out ask to SEE the real thing???
So let me know what you think in the Comments:
1) Should hiring managers be way more involved in examining work product from the get-go?
2) Or have I totally lost my mind (likely!) and resumes are just a necessary evil??? :)
